About explosives traceability
Why explosives traceability, and why us: what you learn about every explosive, how the portal and the terminals work, the system's features and what the offer includes.
Overview
Why explosives traceability? Why us?
Explosives Traceability, developed by LechiSoft SRL, lets you scan the Data Matrix codes or barcodes on explosives with a phone (Android or iPhone), a tablet with a Bluetooth 2D scanner or a mobile terminal, synchronise them with a server application and follow, in one place, all the activity on your company's mobile terminals.
The purpose of the product is the traceability of explosives, an obligation for operators of explosives for civil uses under Directive 2008/43/EC (as amended by Directive 2012/4/EU) and the national legislation transposing it.

The journey of a code
From entering the warehouse to the place of use
Every explosive has a unique code. The app scans it at every step, and the portal keeps its whole journey: who, when, where and in which package.
-
01 In
Goods in to the warehouse
On receipt you scan the Data Matrix codes or barcodes on the packages, with the phone camera, the terminal's scanner or a Bluetooth 2D scanner paired with the tablet. Each code is confirmed on the spot, and the date it entered the warehouse stays in the history.
-
02 Warehouse
In the warehouse
The stock is calculated from the warehouse's goods in and goods out: you see what you have, by product, in its own unit (pieces, kilograms, metres), and traceability can be followed for each warehouse separately.
-
03 Out
Goods out from the warehouse
On goods out, the scan carries the name of the person receiving the goods. A code that has already gone out is flagged immediately: “Already out”, with the date and place of the earlier exit.
-
04 Place of use
The place of use
The place the material is going to is mandatory on goods out: the working face or the quarry, chosen from the list of locations. The date and place of use stay linked to every code.
-
Sync and portal
Sync, and all the activity appears in the portal
The app sends the scans to the portal; each scan stays on the device until the server confirms it has received it. Then any code can be found, in the app or in the portal: which delivery note it arrived with, which package it sits in, who took it out and where it was used.

The server application
The web portal: your data, kept safe
The server application stores all the data received from the mobile terminals in a relational database. The data is protected, first, against unauthorised access, by username and password and, second, by regular backup of all the data.
From the terminals, the application receives the unique identification codes scanned, the type of record (goods in or goods out), the date and time of the scan and, where applicable, the name of the person who received the goods and the place they are going to.
Traceability is followed in real time: once a terminal operator synchronises the data, all their activity appears in the portal. You can use several terminals, depending on the plan you choose, each with a unique identification code, and traceability can also be followed for each warehouse separately.

Equipment and how to use it
The terminals
The scanning app runs on Android and iPhone: on your own phone, on a tablet with a Bluetooth 2D scanner, or on the rugged Android terminals we supply, with a 2D scanner for Data Matrix and QR codes. Each terminal works on one warehouse, and several terminals can work on the same warehouse; how many depends on the plan you choose. Windows Mobile 6.5.3 terminals with laser scanning keep working, with the same portal and the same history.
The terminals we recommend are durable, shock-resistant and have a backlit keypad, useful in the poor light typical of explosives stores.
Available now: the Explosives Traceability app on Android or iPhone, linked to the same portal. For a single warehouse with few scans, the Sand plan is free for life, straight from your phone.

Legislation
The legal framework
Commission Directive 2008/43/EC of 4 April 2008, setting up a system for the identification and traceability of explosives for civil uses, as amended by Directive 2012/4/EU, is transposed by each Member State into national legislation. Directive 2008/43/EC was adopted under Directive 93/15/EEC, since replaced by Directive 2014/28/EU on the making available on the market and supervision of explosives for civil uses.
